My oldest child, at 6 and a half years
I.: But I don't like ugly hats.
Me: Even if you had a pile of poo on your head, you would still be beautiful.
I.: But that would be weird.
Usually this kind of joking makes her laugh--for a second I thought I was talking to D.!
We just got back from Kaiser, picking up I.'s new glasses. It came in a cute Barbie case (the glasses are Barbie brand) and she got a free little backpack. Before the vision test, she was afraid she'd have to wear glasses (cause she thought the idea was cool until she realized they might be for all-the-time use). When she tried on the glasses and looked in the mirror she changed her mind because "I look good in glasses!"
Next month she'll be returning to the orthodontist for the full x-rays. He wanted to wait until next month because her 2 front front teeth were too wiggly. Now she just has the 2nd on the top to lose (her 6th tooth to lose). When she first had loose teeth, it was so exciting that she wiggled them all the time. But now it takes longer for her teeth to come out because it's not exciting anymore, so she doesn't think to wiggle it. Anyway, she'll most likely be getting a bar put in behind her teeth to push her teeth in the right position so that this one tooth will acutally have somewhere to go, because right now it doesn't. In order to do this, they'll have to remove the bottom 2 baby "fang" teeth. The only reason right now that they won't do this proceedure, is if the x-rays show that that one permanent tooth doesn't exist. My brother never got 6 of his permanent teeth, so we'll see if that's the case with I..
Computer, Potter, Hollywood
Anyhow, the bad side of course is that we can't afford to buy a new computer. So we'll be making payments.
But I LOVE this new Dell. It's an XPS 410 or something. I hand picked what I wanted and didn't want. I love electronics. Unfortunately I couldn't have my dream computer. But this is still pretty good, and I made sure to take out all software so that we could use what we already have, and so that it would cost less.
Anyway, I don't update this often because I always wished I could have at least one picture per post, but I'm too lazy to do that.
A couple of things:
I LOVED the last Harry Potter book.
We had a good time in Hollywood a couple of weeks ago, although the trip itself was horrible.
The El Capitan Theater was the best part of our trip and I HIGHLY recommend it.
P. is 10 months old today, and I absolutely adore him with a ferocity that's hard to describe.
Good luck to my brother, Ed, in his new adventures in Hollywood, and I wish him success at that music/sound school thing.
There's more to come in another post.
