First Day of Kindergarten and Second Grade!

Congratulations, D.! We made it to your first day! And you did great!

This next pic was D.'s 3rd day of school, although it felt like her 2nd because she was throwing up in the morning of her actual 2nd day of school, and couldn't go. The woman in the picture is a fantastic lady that I worked with when I was a yard duty (I'm not going to do that this year). She's also a teacher's aide, and I'm happy to know that she'll be helping out in the class.

So the awesome news was that we got exactly the teachers we wanted. Especially for D., we had been praying all summer long. It meant a lot because it could have affected her entire school experience. That might sound a little extreme, but it's really not. She got the morning class with Mrs. Wilhelm (the teacher I. had) and the afternoon teacher is there all the time aiding the morning teacher, then they switch later. The afternoon teacher happens to be Mrs. Horowitz, whom I. had in first grade! How blessed am I?! We absolutely loved her, and it works out awesome because she doesn't have to be paying attention to the whole class at once since she's not the main teacher at that time, so she has been able to give D. some personal attention which has been much appreciated! Really, I could not go on enough about how wonderful, awesome, and fantastic this experience has already been, and I couldn't use enough exclamation marks!!!!!! I get teary everytime I think about how truly blessed I have been. I am very, very happy. D. was so sad not to go to the second day, and was thrilled to go on the 3rd day. Then we had to have this long weekend... :) She keeps asking when she gets to go back. Seriously, people, I have been nervous about D. entering Kindergarten for a few years now. And it fianally came, and so far so good (no, no, GREAT). You probably all think I'm overreacting, but mothers know their kids!
